Cobb EMC Community Foundation Helps us with Software & Training

Acworth, Georgia (October 16, 2021) – Brookwood Christian School has received 2 more Cobb EMC Community Foundation sponsorships, a total of 6 this year! They have graciously helped fund our new Mobymax program as well as training for the program.

We are expanding our reading programs to aggressively remediate the new students we gained for the 2021-2022 school year, as well as our younger current students who were most affected by distance learning at the end of last year. These students are further behind than typical because of remote learning. We are not raising tuition this year in order to help the financial burdens many of our families incurred during the pandemic, so funding such as this helps with that mission.

“We were blessed to have the support of our families during the pandemic,” said principal, Kim Wigington. “Though it was a struggle for us all, we know the impact on many families was difficult, and we hope not raising tuition and seeking other funding for these programs helps them.”

This sponsorship will help minimize any reading gaps that may have occurred as a result of remote learning.

About Brookwood Christian

Brookwood Christian School is a private, non-profit, non-denominational Christian school that serves students who have not been successful in public or private schools due to their unique learning needs: individual or multiple learning diso rders such dyslexia, reading & language processing disorders, auditory processing disorders, attention deficit disorder, neurological disorders, and other specific learning disabilities.

Most of our operating budget comes from tuition payments augmented by the Georgia SB-10 scholarship program. Eighty-six percent of our students receive some sort of financial assistance. Recognition such as this helps with our fundraising which helps keep our operating costs and tuition low.
