SB10 Waiver update for 2020-2021

In the 2019-2020 legislative session, advocates sought to improve the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (SB10 Waiver).  We were of course thrilled that SB386 passed the senate, but with COVID and the legislative session getting cut short, the bill (like so many others) ultimately did not pass.

We are hopeful for a different outcome this year and excited to continue to push these legislative changes.

There is a brief call to discuss the 2020-2021 legislative session and how you can get engaged on Wednesday, November 18 at 7pm.

If you are interested in attending, RSVP to receive a ZOOM link here.

Even if you cannot attend, consider sharing this with other parents and advocates of the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship who might be interested in helping out!

We need parents to share their story, call or write legislators, testify in committee and write op-eds. There is a way for everyone to engage. You can REACH OUT to your Representative and share this information.

Your stories and your voice were essential in passing the legislation out of the senate in 2020 and we look forward to successful passage in both chambers in 2021!

If you have any questions, or you would like to discuss this further with Hannah Heck, you can email her at the address in the email we sent, or join the Private Facebook Group: Supporting Georgia’s Special Needs Scholarship.
